In the 1970s, IMS Health entered the government contracting business by providing drug diversion
surveillance services for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). IMS Health established other
small-scale client relationships during this time by providing basic pharmaceutical data to government
agencies such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the DEA, and the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA). By the 1990s, IMS Health was providing critical market intelligence to these
agencies.
Since then, our technological expertise and information leadership have made us a reliable source of
health information and analysis for the federal healthcare community. Below are a few important
milestones IMS Government Solutions has achieved in the last two years:

Awarded two year contract to support the Tri-Service Business Planning Tool in system
engineering, interface enhancements, and information assurance tasks (Subcontractor to
Kingfisher Systems).

Selected to provide analytics and outcomes support for the Limb Salvage Initiative, a
Technology Investment Agreement (TIA) sponsored by the Office of the Secretary of
Defense, Office of Technology Transition.

Awarded extension to support the Air Force Medical Service Outsource Analytics program
through software engineering and analytics support through FY 2015 (Subcontractor to
CACI).
