Decision Support Service (DSS)
HIGH-QUALITY, RESPONSIVE DATA MINING AND INFORMATICS
The Decision Support Service (DSS) team processes ad hoc data requests and data analysis
services for Air Force Surgeon General (SG) Directorates and Action Officers through
a single-source website where requests are processed and tracked to completion.
The DSS team utilizes data obtained from a variety of sources including the M2 repository,
MDR feeds, and CHCS ad hocs. As requests drive requirements to connect to data not
obtainable from these sources, the DSS will coordinate with SGRKM and/or Clinical Informatics Branch
to partner and collaborate on these efforts.

Rapid Request Data Mining:
|
A single variable involving a simple M2 query M2 Repository,
MDR Feeds, and CHCS.
The DSS product is delivered in a
simple spreadsheet or chart.

Routine Data Analysis:
|
Multi-variable requirements that involve more complex/numerous
M2 queries. The DSS
product is delivered in spreadsheet, pivot
tables, or polished charts.

Complex Data Analysis:
|
Informatics needs that require connections to data sets outside M2.
|
|
Customized Content Management:
|
Dynamic web-based domains for each SG directorate within the
DSS website to host
custom informatics products to meet each directorate’s specific recurring needs.
Domains will provide
custom-designed informatics products, such as web-based
analytic
“cubes” and email-delivered Push Reports.
